The Cowboys

The Cowboys

By Craig Lincoln.

The rising earth reaches up toward the setting sun
Shadows disappear the campfire is born anew
Cattle settle in another day is done
Tired cowboys know there are still tasks to do
Horses and dogs are now tethered for the night
Smiling tired faces lit by campfires light
Tell of tales from a hard life lived on the land
Yet these cowboys still describe their life as grand

Craig Lincoln says: “Born and raised in Sydney Australia currently residing in country Queensland in Toowoomba. An avid reader who yearned to write but found the usual excuses for not doing so (fear primarily). I try to paint a picture with my words and take inspiration from the every day experiences that surround me my family and our menagerie of pets.”
