Love Like a Mourning Dove

Love Like a Mourning Dove

By Linda Barnett-Johnson.

I see the love
Of a mourning dove
As it preens
Like a teen

Feathers to embrace
Perfectly in place
Coos to please
Gentle in the breeze

Eyes so round
Flight heaven bound
I see the dove
With his lady love

She looks so shy
Is he the guy
They fly so high
Up in the sky.
