By Derek Link.
He said he was the Devil of the Deep Blue Sea,
He left no doubt when he left me.
He said he loved me as he held my hand,
Then off he ran with a grunge rock band.
They sailed away on a big cruise ship,
He promised forever then gave the slip.
He sent a letter from a far off land,
He wrote tall tales about the grunge rock band,
The ship went down I read with glee,
And so did the Devil of the Deep Blue Sea.
Derek was born in Toronto but grew up in Southern California. Today he calls Northern California home where, after decades of writing grants, he now writes for fun.
