A Long Story Short will now accept stories up to two thousand words long. We’re still big fans of flash, and those will stand the best change of acceptance, but if you have a wonderful story and need the extra thousand words to tell it, we’ll be happy to read it with an eye toward publishing.

This month we’re starting a new column called Next Generation to showcase and encourage young writers. Submissions may be poetry or prose. So if you know a budding artist of the written word, pass this news along. Details can be found in our updated submission guidelines.

LSS is now in print! The magazines are full colour, 8.5 x 11, and showcase the same covers you see on the site. If you’d like to purchase a copy of this month’s magazine, you can do so by clicking HERE.  Funds from sales will go toward our eventual goal of making Long Story Short a paying market for writers.  All support is greatly appreciated.

Finally, we have started a FaceBook and Twitter page for A Long Story Short, so those of you who are contributors may start seeing posts mentioning your stories. Be sure to ‘like’ our page so you don’t miss any of our FaceBook announcements.
